Michael Dougan is Head of Law and Professor of European Law, University of Liverpool. He specialises in EU Law, particularly EU constitutional and institutional law, legal relations between the EU and its Member States, the law of the Single Market and free movement of persons / EU welfare law. Michael is Joint Editor of Common Market Law Review – the world’s leading scientific journal for European legal research.
Michael has published articles in journals such as the European Law Review, European Public Law and Cambridge Yearbook of European Legal Studies. He is the author of National Remedies Before the Court of Justice (Hart Publishing, 2004) and the co-editor of various collections of essays and special journal issues. He is a co-author of Wyatt & Dashwood's EU Law (6th ed, 2011) – one of the leading English language authorities in the field.
Michael also holds a Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law. He is one of the Joint Editors of the Common Market Law Review. Michael also sits on the executive committee of the Europe in the World Centre.
